The Sample Archive System (SAS) ... a better way to store your samples
 |

|
The Sample Archive System (SAS) product line is a new concept in storing and indexing geologic samples. The SAS System is designed to provide a more compact, cost effective, and weatherproof method for storing HQ, and NQ drill core as well as other types of samples.
The HQ core box is constructed of rugged, durable, and UV resistant black high density polyethylene (HDPE). The HQ box is composed of three troughs that are 40.625” long and 2.625 in diameter. The outside dimensions of the boxes are. 42.25” X 12.125” X 3.625”. The weight of the box with lid is approximately 5lbs. The box can hold a nominal 10’ or 3 meters of NQ or HQ core.
The boxes nest for easy, efficient shipping. A stack of 70 boxes nested for shipping or storage is approximately 36” high.
All SAS boxes can be housed in a wire mesh storage crate.
The advantages of the SAS storage crate are many. The crate is constructed of ¼” steel mesh and is lockable providing long lasting secure storage, inside or outside in the harshest conditions. Another major advantage of the SAS system is that it provides permanent storage yet it is portable. When empty the crate is collapsible for easy inexpensive shipping. If the crate is full and the samples need to be moved, the samples are already in a shippable unit, saving both time and labor.
